HEARTFELT / EKENE IJEOMA / PANORAMA MUSIC FESTIVAL / NEW YORK / 2017
OVERVIEW /
Commissioned for the Panorama Music Festival in NEW YORK CITY, Heartfelt is a participatory interactive installation which engages participants in holding hands and letting electricity flow through them to turn on lights and play sounds. It uses participants bodies as conductors to close the circuit of socio-political polarization, creating a shared experience of solitary and interconnectivity.
ROLE /
As LEAD Designer for this artist Commission, I realized the artist's conceptual desire for a multi-user interaction into form. After rounds of design iterations, taking into account the need for a modular system and site conditions, I developed the build design and led a team of volunteers build the physical components of the installation. During On-Site Installation, I coordinated with event production and managed the install team under a tight build schedule.
